Every resident of our city knows where the Palace of Culture "October" is located. From the day of its opening to this day, it has retained its historical name, which was given to the first cinema of the city by the legendary conquerors of Samotlor. In 1974, in one of the greenest places of Nizhnevartovsk, near the House of Soviets, construction of a modern cinema was started, the auditorium of which could accommodate 763 people. It was the first of its kind such an urban cultural object, and therefore it is clear with what enthusiasm they took up its construction. In a short time, the team of the Nizhnevartovsk specialized management of the Uralsibpromexcavation trust prepared a platform: powerful "Caterpillar" "cut" swamps, cars brought soil. Bulldozers have planned the territory. Then the piles were delivered, and the best management team, led by Vladimir Pidoprigora, started driving the pile field on December twelfth. The brigade pledged to finish driving piles by the New Year. On January 1, 1975, the pile-driving unit hammered the last pile under the base of the cinema. She became the 650th in a row. On December 29, 1978, by the decision of the Executive Committee of the Nizhnevartovsk City Council of People's Deputies, an act on the commissioning of a new institution was approved. Imperceptibly, the institution turned from a cinema into a Palace of Culture, which became dear and close to many Vartov residents. To this day, the foyer of the second floor of the Palace is decorated with a mosaic panel "Conquerors of Siberia and Fire". It refers to monumental painting, technique of execution: mosaic of smalt (opaque glass). Such masterpieces can now be seen only in the capital, at metro stations. The stage of the "October Recreation Center" jealously preserves the memories of those who once stepped on it, experienced a lot: the feeling of flight, the love of the audience, who responded to the dedication with applause, excitement, disappointment. Black–and-white photographs of those years have left us many unforgettable and sincere moments. Inessa Smirnova, Tatiana Marshalova, Lyubov Titova, Lyubov Panina, Elena Knyazeva, Lidia Vazhina, Lyudmila Poroshina, Nikolai Snetkov, Yuri Plotnikov, Boris Balashov, Lyudmila Skulmovskaya, Nadezhda Shcherbakova, Peter Shpanko, Irina Igonina, and many others. Originally from "October", the song and dance ensemble "Neftyanik Samotlora", which once even reached the central television (hood. hand. Yu. V. Goncharuk), the dance group "Spring" (hand. T. S. Kuznetsova), the choirs of "Soviet Song" and "Red Carnation", the folklore ensemble "Reliable", which became the progenitor of folklore ensembles "Runes", "Joy", the orchestra of folk instruments "Samotlor lace", VIA "Northerners", "Bells", "Joy". In 2018, the "October Recreation Center" turned 40 years old. And over the years, every person has been important. So it is, in our "House" every person, every employee is important, we do not have secondary roles and professions. Even the smallest embedded part of the soul plays an important role in the life of the institution. Recreation center "October" lives and still remains interesting to residents of Nizhnevartovsk thanks to the professionalism and well-coordinated work of the entire team. The creative teams of the institution, which are diploma holders and laureates of prestigious All-Russian and international competitions, are known far beyond the city. And the names of artists and team leaders have long ceased to be the exclusive property of Nizhnevartovsk. 34 club formations, in which 749 people are engaged, carry out their activities in the institution. 2 collectives of the institution have the title of "People's Amateur collective", 4 – the title of "Exemplary art collective". But creative teams are not the whole of "October". Behind the scenes, far from the view of the audience, there lives a whole world of highly qualified specialists who sincerely love their work, and without whom more than one event will not see the light: director, costume designer, artists, engineers and lighting designers, stage machinists, methodologists, sound engineers and sound engineers, administrators, wardrobe workers and many others. Thank them for their loyalty to the profession, for their work and faith in their work. Today "October Recreation Center" is a creative platform for the implementation of the cultural policy of the city. More than 300 events are held here every year, which every second resident of our city has attended. The main volume and variety of forms of city events are designed for children, youth, and different age audiences, regardless of gender, nationality, education, social status, political beliefs, and attitude to religion. The institution implements a wide range of services provided on the basis of municipal assignments, contracts with legal entities and the implementation of public orders. The services of the institution are integrated and can be presented in various forms (mass, chamber, individual, interactive) and at any demonstration site. The availability of services provided by the institution is ensured by a flexible and convenient working mode for the population, a balanced ratio of free and paid services that ensure financial accessibility of the services provided for all categories of the population. MBU "DC "Oktyabr" has been implementing a set of measures for a number of years, both the municipal program "Youth of the city of Nizhnevartovsk" and its own events aimed at developing youth creativity and leisure activities, supporting talented youth, forming a civic and patriotic consciousness of youth. Festivals of youth cultures and creativity of working youth, festivals of student creativity "Student Spring", "Studenika", Championships of games "What? Where? When?", held in "October", have become traditional for our city. To date, the institution has accumulated a great, positive experience in holding events of a civil – patriotic orientation: rallies, festive events dedicated to the days of military glory of Russia, memorable events and dates of the history of Russia, with the involvement of representatives of public organizations and associations, military personnel; festivals, themed evenings, conferences, exhibitions, events aimed at studying and popularization of state symbols and others. MBU "DC "October" implements social projects aimed at supporting the family, promoting the cult of the family, family traditions and values – morality, hard work, love for loved ones and respect for elders, continuity of generations and love for their native land. The forms of work with the family used by the institution are diverse. The events are implemented in close cooperation with public organizations. The days of family rest "We rest with the whole family", the city children's creativity contest "Mom! Dad!", events dedicated to the International Family Day, festivals of family creativity, the Championship of family intellectual games, festive living rooms for city public organizations "Large family", "Substitute family". The Palace of Culture "October" in the system conducts a number of activities aimed at working with people with disabilities and meets the accessibility requirements for groups with limited mobility. For the 17th season, the institution has been implementing the Senior University project "New Start", led by Nadezhda Shcherbakova. The USV has 90 people in its ranks. A cycle of visiting concerts of "university students" to social institutions of the city has become traditional. The USV creative group actively participates in festivals and competitions for veterans and the elderly, taking prizes. Dear friends!
