Khanty-Mansiysk

The play "Chekhov. Stories" 12+

18 September 2026 - 19 September 2026

"The world torments me again with its motley emptiness." Vladimir Nabokov

It seems that we have been forgotten on a children's carousel, and we continue to spin in the absurdities of our lives, forgetting that it cannot be rewritten without noticing how the landscape of earth and heaven is changing. But it's us who, in a cozy captivity of happy illusions and habitual boredom, hold on tightly to the handrails of the spinning carousel, blaming fate and other people.

The play is aimed at people who want to understand where the most sincere and real thing is. Where can I get a recipe for a happy life when Dr. Chekhov himself writes: "Until I loved, I did... I also knew very well what love was."

The plot of the play is based on the works of one of the greatest Russian writers Anton Pavlovich Chekhov (the stories "The Bouncer", "The Joke", "From the Notes of a Hot—tempered Man" and "The Black Monk").

Recommended for viewers over 14 years old.

Running time: 2 hours and 40 minutes (with intermission)
