Ethnicity and nature: A trip to Lempino

Lempino is one of the oldest settlements in the Nefteyugansk region, whose history dates back to 1782 and which for a long time was a small ancestral land on the fishing sands. The village is popularly called the national village because it is mainly inhabited by the indigenous inhabitants of Yugra – the Khanty. "Ethnos and Nature: A Journey to Lempino" is an excursion where you will learn the history of the village's development over 242 years, the legends of the locals, which were composed of real life stories, as well as how the culture of the Khanty people has been preserved and reflected in modern life. The participants of the tour will visit the main sights, stroll through the ancient streets of the village, taste Lempinsky fish soup, bread, visit a fish processing plant, and learn the secret of cooking Lempinsky Jam from Raisa Izotovna.
