Monument to the mammoth

The monument to the mammoth is truly a folk sculpture. After all, the maximum number of residents of Khanty-Mansiysk voted for the installation of this named character from the beloved cartoon «Mama for a mammoth». The idea was brought to life by the master from Kurgan Lyudmila Laperdina. And the basis was a children's drawing, which won the children's competition of sketches for the monument. It was once held by entrepreneur and public figure Teifur geibatov with the support of a well-known news portal UgraNow.ru and the regional Council of Supporters. The response was huge. More than 1000 works were submitted for the contest. The leader was a mammoth who lost his mother. Since then, the bronze monument adorns the Park named after Boris Losev. And so that the mammoth was not lonely, the organizers installed another sculpture nearby – The fairy of kindness. Both monuments enjoy unimaginable success among residents and visitors of the city.
