Kogalym

Sculptural composition in honor of saints Peter and Fevronia

Peter and Fevronia Muromsky-the standard of loyalty and support for any married couple. Their memorial day is celebrated on July 8 and coincides with the Day of family, love and loyalty. That is why there are so many monuments to saints in Russia. Kogalym was no exception. The composition of saints is located near the registry Office – in the heart of the square of lovers. On it, Peter and Fevronia seem to be floating in a boat and holding hands. This is a symbol of inseparability. According to legend, Peter and Fevronia even after death were close, despite the fact that they were initially buried in different places. Bronze sculptures stand on a pedestal. You can freely approach them and carefully consider the interesting details of the composition. After all, the work is done very skillfully. It is noteworthy that, like many other monuments of Kogalym, this one also became a gift to citizens from oil workers in honor of the city Day and the day of oil and gas industry workers.
