Lake «Syrkovy sor» is the deepest lake in Ugra. The depth of the reservoir reaches 42 meters, and the lake occupies the fifth place in the KhMAO in terms of area.
Interesting fact: earlier the lake was called differently-Imn-tor. It is assumed that in translation from the Khanty «Imn» means sacred, and «tor» – lake.
Ob Ugrians believe that the lake appeared when three fire goddesses descended from the sky on a huge beast. He dug a deep hole and fell asleep, after which the funnel filled with water.
There is also a legend that it is not recommended to swim across this lake, because the spirits living in it do not like it and can harm. And women were forbidden to go there, especially when they were alone. Another legend says that the idol of the legendary golden woman was drowned in the lake in full growth and it is she who pulls to the bottom.
Be that as it may, «Syrkovy sor» and its surroundings are the cultural heritage of Ugra. In this area there are archaeological monuments: the sanctuary of the Hundredth-te-ICA, sacred lake and sacred cedar grove. They all relate to the history and culture of the Salym Khanty Ostyaks, the inhabitants of the Yurt Kentushonka.
In addition, on the territory adjacent to the lake, archaeologists found the largest and richest burial ground in Ugra-the burial of notable people. According to archaeologists, once there was a trade route. That is why a lot of different artifacts are found in this place.
You will find a miracle of nature in the village of salym in nefteyugansk district.
