The Museum of "Sports Glory" of the Ugra Boarding College of the Olympic Reserve

Ugra is famous for its athletes who adequately represent their district at major international and all-Russian sports competitions. The museum of "Sports Glory" of the autonomous professional educational institution of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Ugra "Ugra Boarding College of the Olympic Reserve" was opened in 2009. The Museum presents: cups, medals, photographs in such sports as Boxing, weightlifting, biathlon, snowboarding, swimming, water Polo, hockey;a collection of skis – ski, running, hopping, walking, classical, etc. (30s, 40s, 50s, 60s and 80s);the rewards of volleyball club "Ugra –Samotlor", set of medals from the world Championships (Khanty-Mansiysk, 2003), cross-country skiing (Lahti 2001);the medals in powerlifting, kickboxing, judo, Sambo, chess and the world Cup of petroleum countries (Khanty-Mansiysk, 2013). The Museum of sports acquaint visitors with the Olympic biathlon champion Jevgenijs Radicinin and Olympic medallist, world champion in biathlon Victor Maigurova, seven-time world champion and nine-time champion of chess by Andrei Obodchuk and many other athletes. The museum houses sports awards of the veteran of the Great Patriotic War and the legend of Ugra sports Bashmakov Viktor Yakovlevich. The museum is open to everyone.
