Church of the Intercession of the Mother of God in Pokachi

On February 23, 1992, the first parish meeting of Orthodox residents in the number of 21 people was held in the city of Pokachi. On October 2, 1992, the consecration of the place for the Temple took place with the laying of the first stone and the erection of the cross. The rite of consecration was performed by the rector of the Church of the Nativity of Christ in Nizhnevartovsk — Priest George Beznutorov. In July 2000, the construction of a new temple began with the financial support of the LUKOIL oil company and the efforts of the administration of the city of Pokachi. On September 1, 2001, the bells were consecrated to the newly built bell tower of the temple, and on September 7, Archbishop Dimitri of Tobolsk and Tyumen consecrated the crosses on the domes of the temple. On September 10, 2002, Archbishop Dimitri of Tobolsk and Tyumen consecrated the Church of the Intercession of the Mother of God. A Sunday school has been operating at the church since 2001. Sunday school students are taught in the lower rooms of the new church building. In 2002, the Bell Ringing Studio was organized. On October 14, 2017, on the feast day of the Intercession of Our Most Holy Lady Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary, Metropolitan Pavel of Khanty-Mansi and Surgut celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the church in honor of the Intercession of the Mother of God in Pokachi.
