Alexander Nevsky Chapel

The Chapel of Alexander Nevsky in the city of Urai traces its history back to the middle of the last century. In October 1998, Archbishop Dimitri of Tobolsk and Tyumen consecrated a cross on the site of the future monastery. Work has begun on the project and construction of the cult object. The design of the chapel was prepared by the chief architect G.Uray Filchenko Lyudmila Vasilyevna. In 2001, a cross was placed on the church dome, in September 2002 it was consecrated in honor of the Holy Prince Alexander Nevsky. Currently, the Alexander Nevsky Chapel in the city of Urai of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug is operational. It is single-headed, stands on a hill on the bank of the Kolosya River. Red brick was used as the main building material.
