Neh-Uriy

Not far from Pokachi there is a village of ancient people. It is called Neh-Uriy. It is an object of cultural heritage of regional significance. It can be compared to the Leopard Mountain. Archaeologists work there every year. They managed to find evidence that people lived on Neh-Uria nine millennia ago. Last year, archaeologists managed to find fragments of the vessel here and assemble it in parts. The first excavations on Nekh-Uriya began in 1995. They have been held annually since 2004. More than a hundred people from different parts of the country come here for field work. Mostly students of specialized universities and colleges. The culture in these places is layered on top of each other. There are finds dated to the seventh millennium BC, and the III-IV centuries AD. It will take 400 years of excavation to study the entire Neh-Urium. But archaeologists say it's better when everything stays in the ground. First, modern non-destructive methods may appear. Secondly, the shelf life of objects in the museum is a maximum of 300 years, even if the conditions are met. And in the ground, the silent witnesses of the life of the ancients can lie for eternity. Artifacts from the Iron Age discovered there indicate that the tribes of the ancient Finno-Ugric peoples were at war. There are fortifications, they had to defend themselves. Everyone was defending their territory. But at the same time, people were engaged in fishing and gathering. Why did they have to fight for the lands? Archaeologists and historians believe that it was due to migration processes. New tribes came. Instead of building a dialogue, everyone chose the path of isolation and hostility. Perhaps Nekh-Uriy, Barsova Gora (by the way, there is also evidence of "enmity" there) or other ancient settlements within the borders of modern Yugra could have become the cradle of our current civilization. Conflicts between ethnic groups do not bring anything good. But only harm. If the ancient Finno-Ugric peoples were more far-sighted, they would get along with each other, enrich each other's culture for the benefit of descendants. Contemporaries can learn a lesson from this.
