The city Cultural Center «Planet» was established in Nyagan as a cultural institution as part of the city Department of Culture on the basis of the former cinema «Planet», in 1993. Since 2003, the City Cultural Center «Planet» has become a legal entity – the municipal institution «City Cultural Center «Planet». Since 2010, the MU «GCC «Planet» has been changing its type to autonomous. At the end of 2010, another autonomous cultural institution of the city – the City Cultural Center «Zapadny» - joined the municipal autonomous cultural institution of the municipality of Nyagan «City Cultural Center «Planet», and in 2012 – the Center of Culture and Leisure «Yunost». In 2022, the institution was renamed the Municipal Autonomous Cultural Institution of the city of Nyagan «City Cultural Center «Planet». Currently, the Nyagani MAUK «GCC «Planeta» includes three main cultural and leisure facilities of the city: the building of the cinema «Planeta» with a cinema hall «Planeta» for 164 seats and a video hall for 40 seats in the 1st microdistrict, and two buildings with concert halls - the recreation center «Zapadny» for 120 seats in the microdistrict «Zapadny» and the Yunost CD block for 462 seats in the Vostochny microdistrict. The rehearsal bases of the institution's creative teams are located in all three buildings. In addition, the composition of the MAUK of Nyagan «GCC «Planet» includes a rehearsal base of the Exemplary Ballroom Dance Ensemble «Inspiration» in the building of the Children's Art School in the 4th microdistrict, a summer stage on the area of the 3rd microdistrict and a costume workshop in the basement of house No. 23 in the 4th microdistrict. MAUK of Nyagani «GCC «Planeta» is the leading cultural and leisure institution of the city.
