House of Culture "Zapadny"

Recreation center "Zapadny" is the first cultural institution in Nyagan, which opened its doors to residents of the village of foresters in 1975. The management of the Forestry enterprise built a capital building according to a standard project to organize the free time of its employees. Amateur artists then engaged in conducting cultural events. In 2010, the House of Culture became part of the City Cultural Center "Planet". The Western Recreation Center today is a building with a concert hall, which was renovated in the summer of 2022. The modernization of the space allows attracting a new audience, using new forms of cultural events, making the cultural leisure of residents and guests of Nyagan more diverse. Today sound engineers and lighting artists work on the most modern equipment. The technical staff controls the devices for the design of concert numbers from the remote control. Thematic images are selected on the LED screen. There are several creative studios of vocal and choreographic direction on the basis of the recreation center "Zapadny". On the ground floor there is a foyer and a transformer concert hall with 120 seats. On the second floor there are methodical rooms, a dance hall and a room for vocal group classes. Concert events, games, educational and thematic programs are held on a regular basis in the House of Culture. The Western Recreation Center acts as a platform for a number of permanent city and district competitions. So, the creative festival among people with disabilities "Together we can do more" has become traditional. In addition, the Nyagan Festival projects are being implemented here, the contest of performers of the pop song "Youth of Ugra", the contest of the military-patriotic song "May there always be the sun", which in 2020 received the status of a district.
