Sergey Meautov's exhibition "House, don't hurt!"

Sergey Miautov is a St. Petersburg artist, a graduate of the Department of Graphics at the Herzen Russian State Pedagogical University. His paintings are distinguished by decorative colors and sharp plastic: the author deconstructs reality, leaving only the most essential in the landscapes.

The exhibition "House, don't hurt" is dedicated to places that have fallen out of the usual field of view: abandoned villages and houses where the architecture of silence replaces the once vibrant life. Winter in Meautov's works is a state of memory that blurs the boundaries between the past and the disappearing.

The title of the exhibition sounds like an awkward conspiracy — an attempt to appeal to the doomed, a confession of powerlessness wrapped in tenderness. The exposition does not try to stop time or save the passing, it offers to look into it while it still exists. This is an attempt to notice something that risks disappearing without a trace, remaining on the fringes of someone else's attention.
