A Monument «Pioneers»

The architectural and sculptural composition «Pioneers» is the hallmark of Nefteyugansk. The monument was opened on the day of the 45th anniversary of the city-October 16, 2012. You can find it on the city embankment. The large-scale composition includes several sculptural elements, an architectural part, and a walking area. At the top of the twenty-three-meter stele, the city's coat of arms is placed. Its height is about 2 meters, and its weight is more than 1 ton. The stele is the center of the entire project, and its shape visually resembles an oil rig. On all three faces, you can see a decorative element in the form of a drop of oil located under the ground layer. In addition, the composition includes 3 sculptural groups of people: in the center – geologists, oil workers and laboratory employees, on the right and left-builders and a happy young family. To see everything, you just need to walk around the monument. There are several approaches to this. The sculptures are perfectly visible from all sides and look great against the sky. On the reverse side of the stele is a bronze plate with key milestones in the development of the city, starting with the first landing of geologists in 1961. You can also see bas-reliefs on the history of the region and the development of the oil North. The author of the monument is honored artist of Russia Volodya Sargsyan.
