Museum of history and Ethnography of the city of Yugorsk

The Museum of history and Ethnography is probably the first institution to start exploring a small Northern city. After all, it is here that the entire history of the development of Yugorsk is collected from the moment of its formation to the present day. Personal belongings of residents, household items, old photos and documents-all this is the best way to tell about how people lived at the very beginning of the development of these lands. By the way, visitors saw the Museum's exhibits for the first time in 2001. On January 12, the first permanent exhibition «Yugorsk. From a legend to a point on the map». After 6 years, residents and guests of Yugorsk saw the next result of the work of the Museum staff – the second stationary exhibition «lines of fate-the intersection point». During this time, the Museum's funds were replenished with new exhibits and now visitors can see the archaeological and ethnographic collections. The latter vividly reflected the everyday life of the Pelym Mansi. Today, the Museum's funds are the richest collection. Here you can find interesting collections of old books, paintings by local artists, a selection of printed publications, black-and-white photographs of Yugorsk, collections «Faleristics» and «Numismatics», as well as a photo album of veterans of the second world war in Yugorsk. In short, everything that reflects the history of the city. Here, as we know, there are no small things.
