«A village standing on the edge of a forest, blown by North winds». This is how the name of the Museum of history and Ethnography «Suevat Paul» is translated from Mansi. It has been operating 6 kilometers from the city of Yugorsk since 2002. The Museum has several exhibitions. One of them is located in the open air and is a reconstruction of a traditional village of indigenous peoples who lived on the left Bank of the Lower Ob, as well as in the North Ural foothills. What interesting things will you find in this place? - See a real residential building with interior decoration. - Explore the sacred sumiyaki that used to store the family of the spirits-patrons. - You will see warehouses for storing food. - Learn how the summer kitchen was set up. - The bread oven, where delicious traditional bread was made, is definitely worth your attention. Outbuildings: deer pens, dog kennels, and even hunting traps are all unique exhibits that allow you to fully imagine the daily life of indigenous peoples. In addition, the life of the Pelym Mansi is perfectly represented by the stationary exhibition «lines of fate-the intersection point», where archaeological and ethnographic collections are presented.
