Cultural and historical center

In 2019, a cultural and historical center was opened in Uray to the delight of citizens, which is located in a five-story building of the former shopping center «Orange» in the very center of the city. In fact, it is a collection of several cultural institutions under one roof. On the ground floor there is a museum of the history of the city, which was opened in 1980. The collection of funds of the museum has about 30 thousand exhibits. On a permanent basis, there is a historical exhibition that tells about the formation, development and formation of Urai. A special place here is allocated for the national living room «Commonwealth». The second floor was occupied by the «Central Library named after the Honorary Citizen of Urai Lev Libov» and «Children's Library». One of the attractions of the children's library is the interactive platform «Cave of Myths and Legends». Children enjoy spending time there, expanding their horizons, during school and vacation time. On the third floor there is a conference hall that can accommodate up to 100 people at a time. The cultural and historical center is a modern level of accessibility of objects for all categories of the population. There are special elevators, ramps, and bathrooms with special equipment. the rows of libraries are arranged in such a way that between them you can move freely in a wheelchair.
