Newlyweds ' Alley. Monument to Peter and Fevronia

Honeymoon lane in Urai was opened for the anniversary – 50 years since the opening of the Shaim field. The alley symbolizes the path of the newlyweds to happiness through overcoming difficulties. First, the bride and groom are included in the «Welcome arch» which symbolizes the beginning of family life. The arch, topped with wedding rings and an inscription with the name of the alley, is made in the Art Nouveau style, and due to the graphic design it seems easy. Next, the couple moves to the «Bridge of Kisses». It represents a mutual desire to go through life hand in hand. By the way, the entire square is perfectly visible from the bridge. The third stage for the newlyweds is the «Tree of Happiness». The sculpture is an openwork wrought-iron tree with a detailed crown. It means well-being and stability. According to tradition, the newlyweds fix a lock on the tree, which secures the promises made to each other. From year to year, the crown of the tree will only increase, as each lock is a new leaf in the crown of the tree. The next, fourth stage, is a pergola-an openwork structure consisting of a forged rotunda with three passages. Pergola represents protection from the adversities of the outside world. the fifth element on the path of young people along the alley will be «stones». This is a composition of polished stones of different sizes, randomly placed on the lawn. It symbolizes obstacles In the way of family life. At the end of the journey, the young people see the sculptural composition «Peter and Fevronia». The bronze sculpture was made by Volodya Sargsyan, an Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. the composition consists of figures of saints: the blessed prince peter and princess fevronia of murom, in full growth. They stand in the rook, where there is an external hole where the key to the lock is inserted. This is a sign of hope, trust and the transfer of the fate of a young family into the hands of the saints. The updated alley has become a favorite for residents of the city and a must-visit for guests of Uray.
