Monument to a nurse

On June 20, 2020, in the year of the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, a monument dedicated to the feat of a nurse in the Great Patriotic War was opened on the central alley of the Nyagan District Hospital. The initiator of the monument's installation is the public organization "Landing Area", with the support of the city authorities. The monument to the nurse is the third object of the All-Russian project "Alley of Russian Glory". Fragile and feminine, but at the same time fearless and confident – this is the collective image of a nurse during the Great Patriotic War. A girl in a military uniform with a medical bag is depicted on the pedestal. The monument is dedicated to a resident of Nyagan, nurse Maria Alexandrovna Yezhemenskikh. Maria Yezhemenskikh was born in Shadrinsk, after studying at the nursing school in 1943, she went to the front. In the Belarusian city of Gomel, she treated children released from captivity, worked in frontline hospitals. Passed Belarus and Poland. After the war, Maria Alexandrovna worked as a nurse until her 70th birthday. The veteran passed away on February 26, 2020 at the age of 95. The monument to the military nurse is not accidentally installed on the territory of the hospital. This is not only a manifestation of respect for the life and heroism of ordinary nurses who fought on a par with the fighters and also died, but also a symbol of the unity of medical workers of several generations. The opening ceremony was attended by the Governor of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Yugra - Komarova Natalia Vladimirovna.
