Langepas

Memorial complex "Memory Square" , "Memory Alley"

The idea of the memorial is to preserve the memory of the soldiers who gave their lives on the battlefields during the Great Patriotic War, as well as those who died performing international and military duty in "hot spots". It is located at the intersection of Lenin and Friendship of Peoples Streets. In the square there is a square with a memorial, which is conditionally divided into two parts. One of them is dedicated to the immortal feat of veterans of the Great Patriotic War with a monument to the Warrior-Liberator. In the center is a sculpture of a soldier in the form of a Red Army soldier, who stands with a machine gun in his hand. On the pedestal there is an inscription: "Eternal memory to those who fell for the Motherland." The granite wall symbolizes the destruction that our country suffered during the war. The second part of the memorial is located on the same square. There is a pedestal with an infantry fighting vehicle – an armored personnel carrier in memory of the soldiers who died in Afghanistan and the North Caucasus. In 2015, during the reconstruction of the Memorial Square, an Alley of Memory was created along two sides of the square, for the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and for the 30th anniversary of the city of Langepas.
