Expositions of the Ethnographic Museum Open-air expositions: 1. The exposition "Traditional settlements of the region" is an exact copy of the Khanty settlement, consisting of traditional dwellings and outbuildings. Visitors of the tour will learn about the traditions and customs of the Northern people. In winter camps, the Khanty built only log cabins, next to which there was a hearth and a stove. A sacred place for the worship of patron spirits was established not far from residential buildings. Various household buildings located next to the dwelling or on the fishing grounds were an obligatory part of the settlement. 2. The exhibition "Life in harmony with nature" demonstrates traditional ways of hunting and fishing, temporary farm buildings of the Khanty people, introduces the natural features of the Yugra region. Almost the entire territory of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug is occupied by coniferous forests and swamps. Each Khanty family had fishing grounds assigned to it. After walking along the hunter's trail, visitors will see various traps for catching fur-bearing animals and wild game and temporary buildings of Khanty.
