Ethnocultural Center
Another place to get acquainted with the culture of indigenous peoples is the Ethnocultural Center of the city of Beloyarsky. It is located in the building of the Center for Specially Protected Areas "Nouvi-At". The building itself in the form of a plague is a kind of reference to the national northern theme. In addition, in the design of the structure there are motifs of a traditional oblas – a dugout rowing boat.
What's inside? The stationary exposition "Northern Civilization: the Khanty people", which is a logical continuation of the appearance of the Ethno-Cultural Center.
You will start to be surprised already at the entrance. After all, your journey will take you through three worlds – upper, middle and underground – according to Khanty's ideas about the three-part structure of the world.
The Upper World is the world of Patron Gods. Here, half of the corridor is occupied by a river, the walls are decorated with real deer skins and yagel, and nearby there are figures of a deer and a reindeer herder with a child in national clothes.
The middle world is the human world. In this part of the exhibition you will find household structures and objects of indigenous northern peoples: a plague, a dugout, a log house, a utility shed and even a sacred birch. Your attention will surely be attracted by birch bark products, as well as toys made of fur and beads.
The underworld. Here you will become part of a grandiose light and sound exhibition, which will allow you to get acquainted with the local flora and fauna.
Well, after visiting the main exhibition, we advise you to walk through the art gallery.
This scale of the exposition allowed the Ethnocultural Center "Nouvi-At" to enter the shortlist of the All-Russian award "Signs of Cities". You will also appreciate it!
