Valery Greifer Square

Since September 8, 2021, Kogalym has been decorating the square named after Valery Greifer, an outstanding oilman, one of the fathers of the Soviet oil industry. Along with the composition dedicated to Valery Greifer located in the center of the square, busts of Stepan Povkh, one of the discoverers of the largest West Siberian deposits, and Vitaly Schmidt, who headed the Kogalymneftegaz enterprise, are installed. The monument dedicated to Valery Greifer was created by the author of the famous Kogalym sculpture "Drop of Life" – Andrey Kovalchuk, People's Artist of Russia, academician member of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Arts, laureate of the State Prize. Its height is 4.5 meters.
