Municipal budgetary Institution "Center of National Cultures"

The municipal budgetary institution "Center of National Cultures" has been operating for twelve years. The institution was created on the basis of the Municipal Leisure and Creativity Center, better known as the Komsomol Club – the first cultural institution of the city, built in the 1960s. The idea of creating a Center of National cultures did not arise by chance, because representatives of more than a hundred nationalities live in Nizhnevartovsk. To preserve the unique diversity of national cultures, contributing to the development and strengthening of interethnic relations – this is the main task that it is designed to solve. On July 24, 2002, by Order of the Head of the Municipality of Nizhnevartovsk, the name of the Municipal Institution "Leisure and Creativity Center" was changed to "Center of National Cultures". In 2007, a "Cooperation agreement" was signed between the City Administration and national public organizations of Nizhnevartovsk. The Center of National Cultures is a member of the Coordinating Council on National Issues under the City Administration. To date, MBU "CSC" has twenty-three national public organizations that actively participate in all spheres of cultural and social activities of our city and district. The Center of National Cultures is the only institution in the city working towards the preservation of traditions, historical and cultural heritage of different nationalities living on the territory of Nizhnevartovsk. The main mission of the Center is to promote the cultural and spiritual level of the multinational population of the city, to create conditions for the interaction of cultures of the peoples living in Nizhnevartovsk while preserving their national identity and traditions, to promote the development of tolerance and convergent relations between people of different nationalities. All the activities of the institution are aimed at the unity and mutual enrichment of cultures of various ethnic groups through the joint implementation of creative projects. These are more than two hundred and fifty events annually, including Days of National Cultures, national holidays and festivals, meetings with cultural and art figures, public figures, conferences on the development of interethnic ties and relations, thematic concerts and literary evenings.
