The monument to the discoverers of West Siberian oil was installed in 1977 on the square of Discoverers. The author of the sculpture is the Leningrad sculptor Klavdia Petrovna Terentyeva. An oilman stands on a pedestal, his right hand stretched out, oil dripping from his palm, his left hand raised up. He is dressed in overalls, a jacket, and waders.
