The house-Museum of Yu. K. Wally
In June 2016, a Museum complex dedicated to the life of Yuri Kylevich Aivaseda (Vella), a Nenets and Khanty poet and writer, was opened in the village of Variogan. He created his works in Russian, Nenets and Khanty languages.
The house-Museum of the famous Ugra writer is located on the territory of the ethnographic Museum, the founder of which was the poet.
The complex consists of outbuildings: a warehouse (food warehouse), a verandah in the form of a plague, a fire place and the house itself. The house where the writer lived is quite small and consists of a small entrance hall, kitchen, two rooms and, of course, a library.
Despite the fact that during his lifetime Yuri Vella glorified the district and his native village far beyond the borders of Russia, he called himself an ordinary reindeer herder and lived all his life on the camp, preserving the traditional way of life. And this house became his refuge when the writer left the ancestral lands.
One room in the house-Museum is preserved in the same form as it was during the life of the owner. The second room is equipped with exhibition Windows with an exposition of household items and hunting-more than a hundred things used by the national poet. The Museum has a bust of the writer, his portraits, as well as archival documents and awards.
But the most valuable thing is the writer's manuscripts and drafts. In this way, you can not only imagine the image of his life, but also touch the creativity, having read the manuscripts.
