Church of the Holy Martyr Hermogenes, Bishop of Tobolsk and all Orthodox new martyrs and Confessors of Russia
This small but very beautiful Church is located in the urban-type settlement of Novoagansk.
The Orthodox community was formed here in 1998. As in many villages of the district, Archpriest George Beznutrov, rector of the Church of the Nativity of Christ from Nizhnevartovsk, stood at the source. In the same year, with the blessing Of Archbishop Dimitry of Tobolsk and Tyumen, the first stone of the new Church was consecrated and laid in honor of the Holy Martyr Hermogenes, Bishop of Tobolsk and all Orthodox new martyrs and Confessors of Russia.
In 2000, the construction of the new Church was completed, and on January 2, 2001, the first Liturgy was held in the Church with the blessing of the Metropolitan. Since 2002, the Church has opened a Sunday school for adults and children. Every year it is visited by more than 40 people.
The Church became so popular with the residents of the village that the building could no longer accommodate the number of parishioners who wanted to attend the service. Especially on major Orthodox holidays. Therefore, it was decided to expand the area of the temple, and soon a new beautiful and spacious building will be built here.
