«Yugorsk-2» memorial complex

For civilians, this monument is just a stabilizing part of the plane. However, for the military and relatives of people whose names are immortalized on boards nearby, this is a place of memory. After all, it is here that they can honor the memory of eleven pilots of the 763 fighter aviation regiment who defended the Northern airspace of Russia and gave their lives in the line of duty. Since 1952, the regiment was assigned to the first line of air defense of the country and was based in the village of Komsomolsky. Now it is the settlement of Yugorsk-2. The military camp was disbanded in 1998, despite the fact that the regiment's personnel always took first place in combat training. And many pilots not once awarded with order of red banner, order of the red Star, order «For service to Motherland in the USSR armed forces» 3rd degree, and many medals. A memorial complex was erected in Yugorsk in honor of the 50th anniversary of the aviation regiment. In 2015, at the initiative of Gazprom transgaz Yugorsk, the memorial plaque was updated, and an alley of 11 trees was planted in honor of the fallen pilots, each of which was given the name of the deceased fighter.
