Motorcyclist Valera

An unusual sculpture called «Motorcyclist Valera» stands in a popular place among citizens – the «Youth» square on Gazovikov street and is one of the most famous. There are two reasons for this: the sculpture was created from scrap metal found on the street; its authors are a biker and a welder. Vitaly Zagidulin is the Chairman of the Local komsomoltsy motorcycle club, and Damir badamshin is an employee of Gazprom Transgaz Yugorsk. they presented the figure of a motorcyclist in the technoart style to the city in may 2014 during the Vzletka motorcycle festival. Since then, it has been a symbol of the biker fraternity. Why, Valera? An interesting story is connected with this. The authors say that at one of the festivals someone was looking for Valera in the crowd. Yes, so loudly shouted his name that all the participants decided to join in and began to chant the name of Valera. Whether that person was found or not is still unknown. But the joke about Valera is firmly entrenched among motorcyclists. That's why the sculpture was named after that Valera. Well, so that Valera was not bored, a year later they made a friend for him – a dog, which was also created from scrap metal. In Yugorsk, they are considered real masterpieces that are definitely worth evaluating.
