Monument to drivers-conquerors of taiga trails

This unusual monument appeared on the Agirish ring of the Yugorsk bypass road in 2008. The model, created in the likeness of the ZIL-157 car, is installed here as a symbol of the selfless feat of people who mastered the forest and gas resources of our district in truly harsh conditions. Our ancestors worked on such machines, and it was they – the drivers-who had the most difficult time on this path, because they had to deliver the team members to their places of work, as well as provide them with everything they needed. The monument completely recreates the atmosphere in which drivers worked. Even the pedestal for the car is made in the form of logs that lined the road from 1960 to 1980 - during the period when development was in full swing. The place for the installation of such an unusual monument was also chosen not by chance. Ugra residents passing by will remember every time how much energy the pioneers invested to make our region so comfortable to live in. The project of the monument was developed and implemented by local artists from the municipal institution "Zodchie" and was commissioned for the 46th birthday of Yugorsk.
