Museum and Exhibition Center
On April 17, 2014, the MBUC «Museum and Exhibition Center» was created in the urban-type settlement of Oktyabrskoye by merging the Oktyabrsky District Museum of Local Lore and the Center for Applied Arts and Crafts. The goal is to study, store and present items of museum significance.
The museum and exhibition center presents expositions that will allow you to get acquainted and immerse yourself in the ethnic culture of the indigenous peoples of the north – Khanty and Mansi. Here are presented products made of wood, ceramics, furs, jewelry made of beads, children's national toys.
The museum also has separate expositions dedicated to Russian immigrants who came to the north in the XVI–XVII centuries.
The archaeological exposition, which has almost 500 items of storage, is presented separately. Among the rare exhibits: Streletsky Berdysh of the XVI century and finds of medieval bronze. among other things, the museum presents paleontological finds-mainly mammoth bones.
In total, the cultural institution stores almost 10 thousand exhibits. They are divided into the following collections: «Archeology», «Mineralogy», «Bonistics», «Decorative and Applied Art», «Khanty and Mansi», «Ethnography of the Russian people». There are 9 permanent exhibitions. The museum carries out educational and educational activities, so everyone will find something interesting here.
