Monument to the «Warrior-liberator»

The monument to the «Warrior-liberator» is one of the oldest in Nefteyugansk. It was opened on may 9, 1985 on the day of the fortieth anniversary of the Victory in the great Patriotic war. The monument installed in Victory square became a symbol of the feat and valor of the Soviet people. The author of the project was a former city architect Vladimir Mukhin. The monument is made of mosaic concrete interspersed with quartz and marble. The height of the monument is just over 10 meters. The sculpture of a soldier is located on a pedestal, and behind it is a symbolic star. It seems to frame the figure of a man. The traditional «eternal flame» burns in front of the sculpture of the liberator Warrior. By the way, the star and the bowl for the eternal flame were made in Moscow. Made of stainless steel and coated with titanium nitrite. The star looks very similar to the one installed at the Kremlin wall in the Alexander garden, near the grave of the Unknown soldier. It is near this memorial in Nefteyugansk that solemn events dedicated to the great Patriotic war are held. People of different generations come to the monument to honor the memory of the victims who gave their lives for the sake of the Motherland and the people, and to thank the veterans present.
