The house of the merchant Gorkushenko

The house of the fisherman Gorkushenko in the village of Oktyabrskoye is a valuable monument of wooden architecture of the late XIX century. In 2005, it was included in the list of newly identified objects of historical, scientific and artistic value. The uniqueness of the building lies in the unique decor of its facade: openwork wood carving with the repetition of the same element. In rural areas, such a carved decoration was used for the first time on this house, which was built in Oktyabrsky in 1870 according to an individual project. The author of the project was an architect from Tobolsk Golovanov. Up to this point, such a decor could only be observed on the house of the famous Siberian researcher Dunin-Gorkavich in Tobolsk. Who was Gorkushenko that he could afford such a luxury? Very little information has come down to our days about him. according to the records of the metrical book of the polnovatsky church for 1900, k. g. gorkushenko was known as a tobolsk philistine. He was engaged in fishing and trade. And later he was shot as a counter-revolutionary. After the merchant's death, all property, including the house, was confiscated. In different years, the building housed a nursery, kindergarten and even a craft center. However, its layout has not changed over the years, as well as the facade – a valuable example of Russian wooden architecture-has not suffered much. It is known that after the restoration, the center of Russian culture will be located here, where you can see the life of the inhabitants of the village in the XIX century and learn interesting details about the fishing industry of the Oktyabrsky district. It is planned that the work will be fully completed in 2021.
