Sculpture "Lock"

On the embankment of the Ob River on December 10, 2010, an unusual sculptural composition appeared — a cast-iron heart in the form of a castle and two openwork trees. Since then, this place has been a landmark for all lovers of Nizhnevartovsk. According to tradition, newlyweds come here on their wedding day to seal their union with a lock, which they leave on the sculptures of trees as a symbol of eternal love and fidelity to each other. The key to the lock is thrown into the Ob River. On such days, especially in the summer, at the sculpture "Lock" you can meet musicians greeting the bride and groom with the sounds of a wedding waltz. Every year new sculptures appear here-trees whose branches adorn completely different locks - from those bought in special wedding shops to those made with their own hands. The lovers' place is constantly being transformed — benches with unusual umbrella lanterns were installed in 2017. In summer, green sculptures appear here — a young couple on a walk.
