ARCHITECTURAL COMPOSITION IN HONOR OF THE 70TH ANNIVERSARY OF VICTORY IN THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR OF 1941-1945

The architectural and sculptural composition consists of a central monument in the form of a stele and three architectural elements marking the entrances to the territory of Victory Square. The 10-meter-high stele is crowned with the Bronze Order of Victory, the highest military order of the USSR. In the lower part of the stele on a granite base there are two multi-figure reliefs on the theme of the Great Patriotic War. The key to Victory is the unity of the front and rear, which is reflected in the reliefs: on the front side, the relief on the theme of the feat of the Soviet Army and Navy, on the back side, the relief reflects the contribution of the workers of the rear to the common cause of achieving Victory. Architectural and sculptural elements are compositionally arranged in such a way that the existing monument to the "Warrior-Liberator" becomes part of the overall artistic solution of Victory Square. On the architectural elements marking the entrances to the territory of Victory Square there are signs with inscriptions: "Victory Square 1941-1945", "In honor of the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War" and sculptural elements representing laurel branches symbolizing triumph and victory. When creating an architectural and sculptural composition, concrete, facing granite, steel, bronze and composite material were used. The author of the project: Honored Artist of Russia, sculptor V.A. Sargsyan. The opening took place on 04.09.2015.
