Memorial complex of pioneer geologists «Farman Kurbanovich Salmanov House»
Back to the past! Namely, the creators of the memorial complex of pioneer geologists in Surgut propose to return to the sixties of the past century.
This iconic place is really interesting, even if you have never been interested in the history of oil production in Ugra. The main exhibit of the memorial complex, of course, is the house of Farman Kurbanovich Salmanov, a geologist whose name stands at the origins of the development of the oil industry in our district. It was in this small wooden building that he lived from 1957 to 1961, even before the discovery of the first deposit. Today, visitors can see not only the facade, but also the interior of the house, including the personal belongings of the famous geologist. As well as an exposition of drill bits, samples of oil rocks, equipment used by the first oil workers, a household trailer and even ancient cedars preserved by Salmanov himself are presented to the attention of residents and guests of the city. They are evidence that previously there was an impassable taiga here.
The memorial complex of pioneer geologists was opened in Surgut in 2007, on the fiftieth anniversary of the landing of the first geological landing, and is an object of cultural heritage of regional significance.
