Monument to explorers of the Middle Ob region

The largest deposits of Ugra were developed not only by oil companies. Among the pioneers were a large number of explorers. Therefore, a memorial was opened in Surgut in their honor. The initiative to install such a monument belonged to the Council of veterans of the company "Obneftegazgeologiya" and employees of the Surgut Museum of local lore. In fact, this is a huge map of Ugra, set on several blocks of stone. And the bas-relief that protrudes from the left edge of the map shows the everyday work of specialists who were given the most difficult exploration. After all, in 1957 Surgut was not adapted to this type of work. However, the first team led by Farman Salmanov paved the way for further development of oil production in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug.
