Uray
Monument «Communication of generations»
In September 2001, on the occasion of the anniversary of Lukoil, a unique monument dedicated to the continuity of generations was opened in Urai.
The sculpture complex is one of three gifts to cities where a well-known oil company is present. Similar monuments have also been erected in Kogalym and Langepas.
The author of the monument in Urai was the sculptor A. N. Kovalchuk, Honored Artist of Russia, winner of the Moscow Prize. And the co-authors were the Moscow architect P. P. Pavlov and the chief architect of the city V. B. Yanushkevich.
The task that the author of the architectural work faced was to reflect the continuity of generations and the social policy of the company. The result is a memorial, which consists of three eight-meter sculptures made of bronze. all of them are installed on a granite pedestal with the beautiful name «flower of ukraine».
The central figure of the sculptural composition is an elderly man, as a symbol of accumulated life experience. Next to it is a sculpture that embodies the collective image of a paratrooper warrior. Well, next to the men – a young woman with a child in her arms.
An elderly man is a lyrical hero who expresses enlightened sadness and untrodden human faith. The image of a paratrooper soldier symbolizes energy and youth with vital truth and boyish spontaneity. And a woman with a child in her arms is an analogy with the image of the Madonna. A mother whose love begins a person's life. In turn, the baby represents the beginning of life.
At the very foot of the monument there is a sign with the inscription «Gift to the city in honor of the 10th anniversary of OAO Lukoil». You can find the composition in the center of the square of the sports palace «Start».
