The wooden Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built in 1873 with the help of donations from parishioners and treasury allowances. However, according to other sources, already at the beginning of the XIX century, a wooden church was and actively operated in the village. It is possible that the new church was erected on the site of an old dilapidated building. Since 1887, a single-class parish school operated in the church's own premises. One of the initiators of the construction of the new church, as well as the main "donor" of funds was a local merchant Ryazantsev. A rich entrepreneur had his own house in Seliyarovo (the building has been preserved), sold products, imported various goods, bought fish.
